Recognition

Fitzpatrick has been named among the Best Lawyers in Dallas by D Magazine and has been named a Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly for the past 16 years. After earning a statewide reputation for excellence as a Supervising Chief Felony Prosecutor under the legendary Dallas County Criminal District Attorney Henry Wade and his successor Judge John Vance, and serving his state as Executive Director of the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor’s Office, and as General Counsel to the Governor, Fitzpatrick brought his formidable trial skills and gifts for legal and factual analysis to the defense of individuals and corporations accused of wrongdoing by federal and state authorities.

Certified in Criminal Law

As a lawyer Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, he has represented numerous businessmen, doctors, school officials, police officers, securities industry, professionals, health-care workers, students accused in Title XI cases, and hundreds of others from all walks of life. He has handled cases ranging from securities fraud to capital murder to driving while intoxicated to juvenile matters. His practice encompasses the federal and state criminal cases, pre- and post-indictment. In addition, he has brought his skills to bear in several personal injury cases, working with co-counsel to secure awards of $1,000,000 and more for his clients.

His skills, work ethic, and creativity lead the State Bar of Texas to name him Prosecutor of the Year in 1993. He consistently applies those abilities to achieve the best possible results for those who entrust their freedom, and reputations, to him.

In addition to his career as a prosecutor and in criminal defense, Fitzpatrick has served Texas as a gubernatorial appointee to the Texas Indigent Defense Commission, the Governor’s Criminal Justice Task Force, the State Bar of Texas Legal Representation for Those on Death Row Committee, and as counsel to the Prosecutor Standards and Guideline Study Commission. In the early ‘90s he worked extensively with the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Texas District and County Attorneys Association, and numerous judges and legislators to re-write major sections of the Texas Penal Code.

The breadth of his experience combined with his ability and work ethic has produced the lawyer he is today: thoughtful, creative, discreet, effective, and a lawyer who thinks outside the box.

He is the man to see.
